‘Visions of Valor’ Portrait Collection Displayed at The Citadel
Portraits of 62 Medal of Honor recipients were at The Citadel from Sept. 30 through mid-November.
The “Visions of Valor” portrait collection featured dramatic black-and-white photographs of military members who have earned
the highest honor for helping save the lives of their comrades and an essay about their courage.
The portrait collection was showcased at The Citadel’s Mark Clark and Jenkins Halls courtesy of TriWest Healthcare Alliance—a
Department of Defense contractor administering healthcare benefits to military members and their families in TRICARE’s 21-state
West Region.
“In the hallowed halls of The Citadel, walked by our nation’s future heroes, stood the memory of the past’s bravest
men, all of whom served our nation in its times of greatest need,” said TriWest President and CEO David J. McIntyre, Jr. “The
collection is a tribute to those who have earned our highest honor for valor in the face of the enemy.”
The “Visions of Valor” exhibit opening coincided with the 2010 Medal of Honor Convention held in Charleston Sept. 27-Oct.
