Portraits Honoring America’s Greatest Heroes Exhibited at National Defense University
To educate the public about the Medal of Honor and to perpetuate the legacy of its recipients, TriWest Healthcare Alliance displayed
its Visions of Valor portrait collection of these great men at the National Defense University for one month.
The Visions of Valor was unveiled during a special ceremony featuring National Defense University President, Vice Admiral Ann E. Rondeau
(USN); TriWest President and CEO David J. McIntyre, Jr.; and Medal of Honor recipients Brian Thacker, Barney Barnum and Roger Donlon.
“This collection is in tribute to those who have earned our highest honor for valor in the face of the enemy,” McIntyre said.
“We acquired this exhibit with the express purpose of honoring our nation’s greatest heroes and sharing their legacies with
America, including with those at the National Defense University.”
Visions of Valor is the first and largest exhibit of its kind in the nation’s history to honor the courage, commitment and character
of Medal of Honor recipients, whose numbers are declining. Only 86 recipients are still living today. The Medal of Honor has been awarded
to 3,449 recipients throughout the nation’s history.
